Curator - Mid Weight
I am looking for a Curator ..
We're ideally looking for a Midweight Curator.
Salary: £29K - 35K
If you are not already a curator then you will need to have been working in art galleries and have experience with installations particularly thinking about health and safety this is a huge plus!
As a curator you will have experience dealing with artists - negotiation skills are a big plus. Confidence is also key, you will be presenting in front of clients and will need to be able to hold your own and be able to handle a certain amount of pressure.

The nitty gritty:To deliver the highest standard of creative across multiple projects, matching the finest artists and artworks to spaces in need of art interventions.
Main Responsibilities
- Sourcing, commissioning and curating artworks for a number of clients simultaneously, managing your time effectively between projects and working within budget constraints
- The key contact for curation projects, and a key team player with larger scheme projects
- Confident in presenting concepts and managing client expectations and concerns
- Being an advocate for great work, encouraging clients to see the value of collections, bringing them on the journey
- Putting together engaging proposals for new curation opportunities that lead with a concept or story
- Building and maintaining a strong database of new and emerging artists and sharing that with the wider company on a regular basis
- Liaising with artistic and creative institutions to for successful partnerships
- Constantly researching the market to understand upcoming trends in the art world
- Providing a close mentoring relationship with more junior team members
- Working with the Creative Director to develop the creative community strategy for the curatorial arm of the business
- Working alongside Project Managers to estimate curation time required at the start of a project
- Helping with the planning of events, panels, art shows etc where required
- Writing thought pieces and articles to promote client engagement
- Marketing input into promotion and activation of the agencies projects

- Championing engagement with communities and educational institutions
- Ensuring that we’re always pushing the boundaries of what it means to have art in spaces both public and private
- Briefing team members effectively, offering a high level of communication across the business
- Vocalising any concerns throughout the duration of the project, asking for help, time and information as required
- Continuously communicating with Directors and Project Managers on individual project progress and overall tactical updates
You Must Have
- A proven working knowledge or understanding of the art world and contemporary artists
- Confidence, clarity and professionalism in client communications
- A willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
- A hunger to constantly improve the studio’s output
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
- The ability to put together engaging documents from templates
