The Senior Technical Designer will work alongside key members of the design team in delivering high quality architectural production drawings / information for both costing and construction purposes from project inception to completion.

The role will require the individual to take a degree of ownership for individual projects and be able to produce detailed information to the required level in a timely manner. He / She will be expected to attend site meetings to coordinate and resolve any technical issues at various stages of the implementation process.
A sense of pride in the production of accurate information is required with all drawings / documentation reflecting the current Area methodology. The successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute to the continual improvements being made within the team and in particular ways in which our information is produced.

Responsibilities 

• Produce comprehensive drawing packages.
• Undertake site surveys as required.
• Liaise with local authorities (planning officers, building control etc.).
• Attend site / project meetings. Build relationships with clients/contractors as part of the team.
• Prepare architectural tender/construction information.
• Design coordination (M+E etc.) and buildability reviews.
• Some Revit experience - not essential
• Experience in document management
• CIAT member
• Commercial awareness and understanding of cost implications of changes all round.

• Fully proficient in latest version of AutoCAD Architectural Desktop
• Working knowledge of M & E coordination.
• Very good knowledge of planning/building control issues/regulations.
• Min 5-10 years’ experience in a commercial office fitout environment in a similar role ideally within D&B.
